A terminal with
a board in it.

Kanbannn keeps your task board where the work actually happens. Link a card to a pane running Claude Code, and the board moves itself as the agent works.

What's in it

The board moves itself

Link a task to the pane running your agent. When the agent starts working the card slides to In Progress; when it stops and waits on you, the card comes back. You stop dragging cards to describe what already happened.

Projects are directories

A project is a name, an icon, a color, and a folder. Every task belongs to one, so spawning an agent already knows its working directory — you type the path once, not once per task.

Every Claude Code session, resumable

Kanbannn reads the transcripts Claude Code leaves on disk and lists every past session with its title and directory. Pick one and it opens a tab running claude --resume — even if the tab that ran it is long gone.

Paste a thread, get tasks

Drop in a Slack thread, a meeting note, an issue dump. The AI pulls out concrete tasks and files each one under the project it belongs to. Point it at a folder and it'll suggest the projects too, icons and colors included.

Tabs that show agent state

Vertical tabs tint themselves with each pane's live agent status, so a wall of sessions tells you at a glance which one is waiting on you. Colors and labels are yours to set.

Your data stays a file

The whole board is plain JSON at ~/.kanbannn/tasks.json. It survives logout, it diffs, it backs up, and it never needs an account to exist.

How it works

  1. 1

    Point it at your folders

Scan a parent directory and let the AI propose projects, or add them by hand.

  2. 2

Open a task in a pane

Kanbannn spawns the agent in that project's directory and links it to the card.

  3. 3

    Watch the board keep up

Cards follow the agent between In Progress and the column it came from.

Install

Download the disk image, drag Kanbannn to Applications, open it. It's signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized, so Gatekeeper lets it through without the right-click dance.
